Recycling

The Three R’s

Recycling is one of the most important things people can do to keep the earth healthy and clean. Along with reducing and reusing, recycling forms the three R’s of protecting the environment. There are three processes involved with recycling at Fredericton Region Solid Waste – Sorting, Processing and Selling.

FRSW also recycles residential electronic waste. You can drop off your items – anything with a cord or a battery! – at FRSW’s on-site e-waste location at 1775 Alison Blvd.

Once the recyclables are sorted, you can place the boxes curbside for pickup in your neighbourhood’s scheduled collection day.

However, curbside pickup is just one way of getting recyclables from your home to our Recycling Centre. Another is by taking your recyclables to a depot in your area and placing them in the appropriate large bins. You can find recycling depots in Fredericton, Oromocto and Minto. Recyclables can also be dropped off directly at the FRSW facility free of charge.
