Residents of Fredericton Region Solid Waste’s collection routes are asked to please use garbage bags inside waste containers during designated collection days.
By bagging your garbage, there are odour reductions to reduce potential wildlife interest and avoid inviting scents, mold and other residues from building inside the collection containers.
Bagging also avoids residual waste from remaining in the container and avoids potential spills and wind blowing debris in your neighbourhood.
Organics inside garbage bags will still break down once landfilled. In fact, FRSW’s highly-successful landfill gas plant uses decomposing organics as an energy source.
Should you have any questions about bagging your garbage for collection, please don’t hesitate to reach out to FRSW at firstname.lastname@example.org
